All 151 Pokmon are training for the battle of their lives on Nintendo 64. With the popularity of Pokmon skyrocketing out of control, it's no surprise that Pokmon are preparing to pour into the 3D world of Nintendo 64. Pokmon Snap will be the first N64 release based on Pokmon, and Pokmon Stadium will follow this fall. Pokmon Stadium gives Trainers an arena to engage in heated Pokmon battles, and offers them a ring-side seat for the action. The American version of Pokmon Stadium is actually based on the second Japanese edition of Pokmon Stadium, which is currently in the development stages in Japan. Pokmon Trainers will be able to conduct turn-based battles similar to the Game Boy versions of Pokmon, but outrageous animation sequences and flashy special attack effects will make your Pokmon come to life like never before. One of the most exciting aspects of Pokmon Stadium is that you'll be able to battle using your most loyal Pokmon from the Red and Blue versions of Pokmon. Thanks to a special adaptor that plugs into the bottom of your controller, data can be transferred straight from a Game Boy cartridge into your N64. The TMs, attacks and levels of your trained Pokmon will be available on Pokmon Stadium, so you won't have to leave any of your favorites behind. On top of the visual treat of watching your Pokmon duke it out on the big screen, Pokmon Stadium will also contain a variety of mini-games starring all types of Pokmon. It's currently unclear exactly how these miniature challenges will relate to the organized Pokmon battles, but any time you get four Clefairies together you're bound to have fun. Even though we have trouble reading the Japanese, these early screen shots demonstrate the game's unique fighting stadiums Each of the 151 Pokmon can be found in Pokmon Stadium, even if you decide not to transfer data from your Game Boy Color Pokmon games. Pokmon Stadium will allow up to four players to compete in a grueling Pokmon tournament, designed to reveal which of your friends is the best Pokmon Trainer. |
Hello and welcome to the Pokmon Snap section. Pokmon Snap is another video game brought out, revolving around pokemon, for the N64. The object of Pokmon Snap is to get high quality pictures of pokemon for a pokemon book from the Pokemon Isle. Sounds easy, huh? Not really. The pokemon aren't exactly willing to pose for you. You start off with 60 exposures of film that Dr. Oak gives you. Don't waste these, because you'll have to do a return trek to Dr. Oak's main lab to get a refill. Now to find the pokemon. Some are pretty rare, and some are easy to find. Some may be hiding under rocks or even in the trees. Some may even be chasing other pokemon. To get a good picture of a pokmon, its a good idea to get its attention first so you can get a head on shot. Thats what you have rocks and apples for. Throw rocks to get a pokemon's immediate attention for a quick shot or throw an apple to a pokmon as bait so you can get a better shot. Some pokemon won't respond to rocks or some may not respond to apples, so you need to use your cunning to sneak up on them. This game has a lot of in depth play and also the graphics are superb, hardly many polygons at all with smooth pictures of all pokmon. So far from what Nintendo says, it should come to the US in the summer of 1999. I'm trying to get more screen shots at the moment, so please bare with me. | |||||||||||||||||||
